The colours and ovals are in imitation of his work. i wasn't sure if i should categorize this as (p)op-art or fan art...it's both.
The illusion is explained a bit in "Phenomenal Characteristics of the Peripheral Drift Illusion" by Akiyoshi Kitaoka and Hiroshi Ashida, and two page excerpt is online.
